The plan includes sending 10,000 troops to the southern border, using the 1798 Alien Enemies Act to fast-track removals, and ending Biden-era programs like CBP One, leaving many migrants in limbo. Other steps include charging asylum seekers fees, ending birthright citizenship, expanding detention centers, reinstating the "Remain in Mexico" policy, and restricting humanitarian parole.
The administration says implementation will begin quickly to deter illegal crossings and improve enforcement.

This type of research, which involves altering viruses to make them more infectious, has been linked to the Wuhan lab and possibly contributed to the origins of COVID-19. The order is intended to improve the safety of biological research and prevent dangerous lab leaks. It also gives U.S. agencies the authority to cut off funding for any research that threatens national security or public health.

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and NIH Director Jay Bhattacharya backed the decision, warning of the global dangers such experiments pose.
The White House said the order is meant to protect Americans from lab accidents and biosecurity risks, including ones believed to have caused COVID-19 and the 1977 Russian flu.

FOX News provided more details in its report: “The president’s order ends any present and all future federal funding of gain-of-function research in countries with insufficient oversight of research, and it empowers U.S. research agencies to identify and end federal funding of any other biological research that could pose a threat to American public health, public safety or national security.”

The U.S. Department of Justice has announced a $5 million reward for information leading to the capture of Yulan Andony Archaga Carías, a 43-year-old Honduran and key MS-13 leader.
