The sentencing took place at the Allegheny County Courthouse in Pittsburgh, following Crew’s conviction on February 10, 2025, for first-degree murder and related charges. The crime occurred on February 10, 2022, during a ride starting at 9:11 p.m. in Pitcairn, Pennsylvania.

Spicuzza, a Turtle Creek mother of four, was driving for Uber when Crew, then 22, booked a ride through his girlfriend, Tanaya Mullen. Dashcam footage showed Crew, masked and hooded, pressing a 9mm handgun to Spicuzza’s head, demanding she “complete the trip” while accessing her banking apps.

Spicuzza pleaded for her life, citing her children, but Crew disconnected the dashcam. He forced her to drive for about an hour before shooting her in the head in a wooded Monroeville area. Her body was found on February 12, 2022, near a 9mm shell casing.
Spicuzza’s fiancé reported her missing on February 11, leading police to her rented Nissan Sentra, phone, and dashcam.

Using Uber data, cell tower pings, and surveillance, investigators identified Crew, who was arrested on February 17, 2022. At trial, prosecutors presented the dashcam, surveillance, and Mullen’s testimony, who said Crew FaceTimed her from the car. The defense claimed a robbery went wrong, citing Crew’s troubled upbringing, but the jury convicted him in under an hour.
