HONORING OTHERS WITH LOVE, COMPASSION, AND KINDNESS IN CHRIST JESUS
Romans 12:10 New King James Version
10 Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another;
GOOD EVENING IN YESHUA MY DEAR AND PRECIOUS FRIENDS!!! OMHW! What an incredible day Ricky and I had today! We got back from Seth's ISP meeting with the people at Sevita, and his social worker, Zoe, and it was even more productive than I could have imagined.
There's something about this passage of scripture, this moment with David and Mephibosheth that I really like, because it shows the true heart that David had. That David's heart was filled with compassion, grace, kindness, and mercy toward this young man, despite the fact that he was the descendant of king Saul, and that truly blows my mind. That he willingly took this young man in, despite more than likely all the pressure in the world to eliminate him, and the beautiful blessing that resulted from it.
Tonight, my friends, I'd like to share some things about this particular passage of scripture, as well as what it means to honor others with love, compassion, and kindness, through this vlog I'd like to share with all of you tonight, and I pray that what I share with you will resonate in your heart to want to live that. Come join me in this vlog tonight my friends and learn what it means to honor others with love, compassion, and kindness in Christ Jesus! 😊
So, my friends, as I close this post with all of you tonight, I want to leave you with these questions from this morning's devotional, a bit out of order, and I pray that God speaks to and challenges your heart through them.
What does it mean for you to show honor to others?
How can you encourage the people in your sphere of influence?
I challenge you today to find ways where you can not only find people to encourage in your sphere of influence but do so. I especially challenge you to find people that you normally wouldn't associate with, people like the disabled, the LGBTQ community, strippers, recovering alcohol and drug addicts, and let them know that you care about them. Find people like Mephibosheth, and take time to get to know them and help them with their needs. Put into practice what Paul states in this verse above, and don't be afraid to live kindness, honor, integrity, and compassion to everyone that you meet. As Dave Branon, this morning's devotional writer, sums everything up so very well, “Let’s practice unified living—making sure to honor, in Jesus’ love, everyone we encounter.”
