President Donald Trump spoke at a swearing-in ceremony for Middle East Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, who had been serving in the position since the beginning of the second Trump administration. The president said Mr. Witkoff made "a lot of progress" with his visits to Russia for negotiations to end the Russia-Ukraine war. Moreover, a reporter asked about a Justice Department investigation into New York Attorney General Letitia James for fraud. Trump responded, "She's a disaster for New York; she's a horrible, horrible human being. And I think she's a total crook; there's no question about it. ... Pam's gonna have to do what she wants," referring to U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi.
