Light reflection

Specular Reflection: This happens when light reflects off a smooth, shiny surface like a mirror or a calm lake. The incoming rays of light travel in parallel, and the reflected rays also travel in parallel, creating a clear, mirror-like image. Think about seeing your perfect reflection in a still pool of water – that's specular reflection in action!  

Diffuse Reflection: This occurs when light reflects off a rough or uneven surface, such as paper, fabric, or a textured wall. In this case, the incoming parallel rays of light are scattered in many different directions after reflection. This scattering is what allows us to see objects from various angles, even if the light source isn't directly in front of them. Imagine looking at a piece of paper; light is bouncing off all the tiny fibers in different directions, which is why you can see the paper whether you're standing to its left, right, or directly above it.
