I Can't Breathe

There are times in my life where I have felt so under it all. Have you ever felt that way where you just can’t even breathe, where the loss is so great, and the grief so overpowering, you feel like “I can’t breathe”…

The human soul was not created to bear such atrocities, we were created for worship of God, yet mankind, serving no power higher than self, has flip-flopped our purpose, and it has caused much soul pain for all to bear. Human beings without God are not good. The human condition in control is cruel in ways where it leaves us gasping for breath… I can’t breathe.

This is a time of exposing and expunging evil. Have you ever seen so much exposing of what has been done to us in the darkness of secrets? Have you ever seen a time where evil has come out of the dark into the light, so rapidly and evil is not hiding in the shadows anymore, not even trying to hide the sinister plans anymore. It does feel overwhelming in this life season. We need God now more than ever, as shocking things are being revealed of how people have hurt people to gain money, power, control, position, authority all of which is temporary, gains that can’t even be kept. Foolish is what we human beings are if we think we can wield illegitimate authority for very long. Greedy, power hungry people, hurt people and innocent children suffer. I can’t breathe!!!

When someone or something in your life brings cruelty in your face, it is hard to absorb the soul shock. I can’t breathe! The hurt to our soul from the human condition of others, especially those we thought were for us, those we thought loved us, it kicks us in the gut and you do feel like… I can’t breathe! The grief from being stolen from, the loss, from the cruelty, from the betrayal, creates soul pain that overwhelms our spirit in grief. Then we foolishly try to carry it alone, this burden of sorrow and we get up with in the morning with it, we bear it all day long, and soul exhausted at night, we cry ourselves to sleep. Grief, it never seems to leave us. It feels like we are surrounded by grief and we can’t take another moment of it.

Yet God, He doesn’t leave us. It is His desire that we lament with Him, in His Arms of unconditional love. The Holy Spirit keeps pursuing us, until we lean into Him, acknowledging Who He is, our Deliverer, our Savior, the only ONE Who can bear the loss and grief we feel. Our spirit wakes up with the adoration of God, and the presence of grief in the light of Who God is, it dims the pain. We remember just how much Jesus understands grief, as He bore our sorrows, and our grief on the cross of Calvary. We know without a doubt, Jesus understands us and we Cry out to God: “Deliver Me, My Savior, deliver me from evil”! We ask for help sharing our pain with God: “Jesus, help me to bear the grossly exaggerated loss put on my soul by my cruel enemy who wants to steal, kill and destroy my relationship with You.”

The sweetest, most miraculous thing happens when You tell God what you are going through and you know He sees you, you know He hears you, and you feel the release of the burden you have been carrying, you feel the comfort of God in that miraculous way only He can give. Lamenting with God, how sweet it is. He sees us. He hear us. He knows. He understands. That deep breathe of relief as sit in His Presence and you inhale His strength, and release your weakness into His mighty right hand and breathe deeply into your soul the love, and the healing power of God, this spiritual oxygen, is so pure, so deeply soul cleansing. I Can Breathe!

Are you feeling overwhelmed by grief, don’t carry it all alone, turn to God, Lament with Jesus, who completely understands where you are and what you are growing through, and You will know that glorious, miraculous relief from your sorrow, you will know God’s comfort and soul peace and strength once again. Just Breathe. Breathe In Jesus, Exhale All That Is Troubling You. Lament. Know the miraculous comfort of Jesus in your soul. Breathe.
