Drawing For a Half Hour, or Trying To, anyways. Wednesday, May 7, 2025.

The internet doesn't always work too well at the motel where we are at. I've been trying to upload this video since last night.
Let's hope it works this time.
So, most kids draw, and then, one by one, they stop drawing, because society tells them they should be doing something else with their time and their life.
I'm a kid that never stopped drawing, because drawing is pretty cool.
When people go to galleries and museums, and see some awsome art that blows them away, people start to wonder that maybe they should have stuck with the art.
Graduate high school, go to college, get married, have kids, work jobs you hate....and then there is 'The Art Life' in contrast.
I chose to keep making art, and I'm still doing it at age 57. It's what I like to do, and it's what I want to do. I actually feel bad and guilty if I don't make art when I know I should.
Of course, there are distractions. Real Life gets in the way.
But there is always a way to make art, even if all you have is a pen and a piece of paper.
So, instead of watching TV, you could draw a picture, and in these times, you can photograph it, and post it on social media for instant gratification. That's never been possible before.
Of course, the problem is, "How do you make a living and still be able to make art?"
Yes, that is a constant problem.

To make my art career work, I need to somehow make $10 an hour all day long, using every skill I have.

The time you put into your art eventually adds up. It's a good investment, and you'll always feel good for putting time into it.
But how to pay the bills while making art? That's the hard part, isn't it?
Yeah, if you want to make art, post it on social media as much as you can. The idea is to put your art out there, and to let the chips fall where they may.
In my case, I am met with a lot of apathy, or people who don't care what I do no matter what I do.
So, I just have to keep plugging away until something happens.
Also, never give up on your dreams, because once you do, you got nothing.
