Shell shave her head if someone can give her a good reason to ban trans people from military service
A progressive activist recently went viral after announcing she would shave her head if someone could give her a “valid reason” to ban transgender individuals from military service. In her argument, she compares a transgender soldier to a bear in combat, as if military policy were a joke rather than a matter of national defense.
The video, shared widely across social media, highlights what many conservatives see as a complete detachment from the real-life demands of military service. This isn’t about personal feelings or phobias. It’s about objective, operational standards. When President Donald J. Trump reinstated the ban on transgender service members, he did so backed by Department of Defense reports citing readiness issues, increased medical costs, hormone treatments incompatible with deployment, and complications in unit cohesion.
The military is not a place for social experimentation. It is an institution with one mission: protect national security. Decisions about who may serve are not made based on cultural trends but on facts. In fact, even the RAND Corporation — under Obama-era pressure — warned in 2016 that integrating openly transgender individuals could introduce logistical, medical, and psychological complications to the armed forces.
The analogy with bears is both offensive and childish. This isn’t about “fear” of trans people; it’s about acknowledging that military service requires emotional stability, identity clarity, adherence to strict physical and mental standards, and minimizing distractions that could compromise the mission or fellow soldiers' safety.
Those who claim there are no valid reasons for such restrictions often ignore the reality voiced by countless veterans and commanders who have legitimate concerns about morale and unit cohesion. Where are their voices?
Supporting a strong, mission-focused, and disciplined military is not “discrimination.” It’s common sense. And it’s the duty of any serious nation.
