Numbers 11

In Numbers 11, after a 3 day journey, people complain and complain again. At the first complaint, God is so mad that fires start around the edges of the camp, but Moses' intercession saves the people.

Moses is exhausted by the incessant whining, and asks God quite bluntly to just kill him if he's got to provide for these people. He got distracted and taken down by the people's lack of faith and complaints. But God has other plans!

God gives 70 men the Spirit, for helping lead the people. We don't know what all they did, but when they received the Spirit the prophesied, once. I believe this is the first mention of the Holy Spirit, and that's pretty darn cool!

God ends up giving the Israelites meat, but with the meat, also came a plague for those who had been complaining that God's provision wasn't enough. Too often, we focus on what we don't have, not what we've gotten through, and the blessings currently around us.

Today, Christians have the Holy Spirit living inside. We can really help others, with the power that the Holy Spirit provides. Are we?
