Moscow marks 80 years since victory in The Great Patriotic War. A commemoration on Red Square the World Celebrates.
May 9 is one of the most important dates on the calendar for Russians. It was on this day in 1945 that fascism in Europe was finally crushed. Celebrating the end of this war is no longer a high priority in the west. In fact, there has been a long ongoing attempt to understate the role the Soviet Union played in defeating the Nazis, the meaning that the iconic Victory Day parade in Moscow holds for the world
