Gameplay Part 4 (Finale)

Resident Evil 7 biohazard is the next major entry in the renowned Resident Evil series and sets a new course for the franchise as it leverages its roots and opens the door to a truly terrifying horror experience. A dramatic new shift for the series to first person view in a photorealistic style powered by Capcom’s new RE Engine, Resident Evil 7 delivers an unprecedented level of immersion that brings the thrilling horror up close and personal.

Set in modern day rural America and taking place after the dramatic events of Resident Evil® 6, players experience the terror directly from the first person perspective. Resident Evil 7 embodies the series’ signature gameplay elements of exploration and tense atmosphere that first coined “survival horror” some twenty years ago; meanwhile, a complete refresh of gameplay systems simultaneously propels the survival horror experience to the next level.

In this playthrough we cover:

Wrecked Ship (Part 2):
After Mia finishes watching the videotape that reveals her role as Eveline’s caretaker and the events leading up to the shipwreck, the game shifts back to her in the present. Now armed with knowledge of the past and a newfound resolve, Mia sets out to rescue Ethan, who is cocooned in mold deep within the ship. She recovers Ethan’s lost equipment by unlocking a nearby storage room and battles through more Molded enemies as she descends further into the decrepit vessel. Eventually, Mia finds Ethan and frees him, passing along the tissue sample needed to create a second serum dose before being taken by Eveline.
Ethan experiences a psychic vision within the mold where Jack Baker’s consciousness appears, revealing that the family had been controlled by Eveline against their will and begging Ethan to end the nightmare. With his equipment retrieved, Ethan escapes the ship, leaving behind a now docile Mia as he heads toward the nearby Salt Mine to confront Eveline directly.

Salt Mine:
Ethan descends into the Salt Mine with one goal: to destroy Eveline and end the nightmare. He fights through a gauntlet of Molded, facing tougher variants and navigating explosive-rigged tunnels. Along the way, he uncovers a hidden lab run by The Connections, a mysterious bioweapons organization, and reads files confirming Eveline’s origins as a genetically engineered bio-weapon. The documents reveal how she manipulates hosts through a psychotropic infection and explain Mia’s past involvement.
Ethan also discovers that the serum created earlier is the only effective weapon against Eveline. After escaping another Molded ambush and acquiring crucial lab data, he finally reaches the Baker House attic—Eveline’s true location—through a hidden elevator.
The Salt Mine marks the climax of Ethan’s transformation from desperate civilian to determined survivor. The atmosphere becomes colder, more clinical, and more unhinged the closer Ethan gets to the heart of the infection.

Finale (Ending 1):
Returning to the Baker Estate for the final confrontation, Ethan discovers that Eveline has been disguising herself as the old woman seen throughout the house. In a terrifying boss battle, she launches psychic attacks, sending Ethan into a warped, dreamlike state before physically mutating into a massive, grotesque form. Ethan injects the serum into her, stopping the mutation and defeating her once and for all.
After the battle, Ethan is rescued by a military team led by Redfield (later revealed as Chris Redfield), who arrives via helicopter. If Ethan gave the serum to Mia earlier, she survives and is rescued with him. The couple shares a brief, emotional moment as they leave the nightmare behind and fly into the sunrise aboard the Umbrella-branded helicopter.
The ending closes with a note of closure and ambiguity. Though Ethan and Mia escape, the origins of The Connections and Eveline’s creation remain partially obscured, setting the stage for future revelations.
