🚨 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀: 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄 🚨
It's time to demand accountability, protection, and reform across our state systems.
🔹 𝟭. 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘁𝘀
Florida Family Courts have failed to implement Family Law Advisory Groups (FLAGs) as required by the FL Supreme Court's SC00-1410 directive.
➡️ Most circuits remain noncompliant.
➡️ Courts routinely violate the ADA by ignoring invisible disabilities like PTSD and anxiety. ADA compliance and FLAG implementation are long overdue.
🔹 𝟮. 𝗟𝗮𝘄 𝗘𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁
Police often refuse to enforce family protection laws:
❗ Domestic violence (s. 741.2901)
❗ Child abuse, parental kidnapping, custodial interference (s. 787.01(1)(b), s. 787.03)
❗ Officers denying jurisdiction may be violating s. 839.24
Despite rising support for Family Abduction Awareness Day, agencies are doing little.
🔹 𝟯. 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀
DCF fails to:
⚠️ Verify legal custody through parenting plans
⚠️ Act on custody violations, even with court orders
⚠️ Recognize unlawfully withheld children as “missing”
These children often remain “hidden in plain sight," still in school, still unprotected. DCF must treat custodial interference as emotional abuse and expand its definitions of harm.
🔹 𝟰. 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀
Schools are legally bound to follow custody and DV orders but lack:
📌 Clear protocols for verifying pickup
📌 Training for staff on court orders
📌 Coordination with law enforcement
This can lead to serious legal violations and risk to children. Schools must act now to protect students and uphold the law.
FL statutes referenced: s. 741.28 and s. 741.29 (Domestic Violence), s. 39.001 and s. 39.301(2)(b) (Child Protection and Reporting), s. 787.01(1)(b) (Parental Kidnapping), s. 787.03 (Custodial Interference), s. 827.03 (Child Abuse), s. 839.24 (Offenses by Public Officers and Employees), s. 741.2901(2) (Mandatory Enforcement of Domestic Violence Laws), and F.S. 409.2564(11)(a) (Child Support Enforcement). Federal statute 42 U.S.C. § 666(a)(10)(C) is also cited concerning child support compliance. #sarasota #parentalalienation #Florida
