Dan 4:33
"Immediately the word concerning Nebuchadnezzar was fulfilled; and he was driven away from mankind and began eating grass like cattle, and his body was drenched with the dew of heaven, until his hair had grown like eagles' feathers and his nails like birds' claws.

As Nebuchudnezzar departs from rationality, his kingdom slips from him. The insane of that day were driven out instead of driven to an asylum. Under normal circumstances, he never would have been allowed back on the throne, but Elohim promised that He would do so after he had learned his lesson. History corroborates this event in the life of Nebuchudnezzar. Dr. Philip R. Newell has this note from Albert Barnes, "Josephus attributes to the Babylonian historian, Berosus, a definite reference concerning a strange malady suffered by Nebuchudnezzar before his death" (Daniel, the Man Greatly Beloved, and His Prophecies, p. 54) There is also the testimony of Abydenus, the Greek historian of 268 B.C. What exactly was the mental problem of Nebuchudnezzar? Apparently he suffered from lycanthropy. He was a werewolf!! This is a true form of insanity that is somewhat rare, but does exist.
