Why does linux seem slower than windows with moving files?

I get this question asked a lot so I will do my best to explain it. By design, no two versions of Linux are alike but they perform the same function. Windows is nothing like any version of Linux that presently exists. When you click a bunch of files to move from one disk to another on windows, if the file isn't really screwed up, the files duplicate to the other disk. On any version of linux that is presently out there it goes and prepares and checks the file then copies the file. If you have alot of files, it's gonna take a hot minute.
