Civ 5 Deity Venetian Diplomacy

This video shows and attempt to explain how to win a Diplomatic Victory on Deity, and with one city as Venice. It is a lot more peaceful and notably quicker than the Persian Hostile Diplomacy Video.

Though 2 of the AI declared war near the end (169 to 195), and a city state was lost, it was all needed for the character arc to become the "Champion" (World Leader) of the "Pokemon League" (renamed World Congress). Love or hate the City-States, you "gotta catch 'em all" in order to be "the very best."

As the AI's coding is absolutely atrocious when it comes to any sort of naval combat, it did not matter that I was the only Freedom Civ, as defending myself was a joke (RIP Sidon). Even in banning my own luxury because Ramesses had his own copies of it, and my happiness was over 40, yet despite all the effort put into making him unhappy he did not covert to Freedom.

I did goof when selecting Biology for hospitals, as I should have researched Replaceable Parts first to then use Oxford to Immediately research Plastics. As the video proves, that also did not matter.

In not constructing the Forbidden Palace (again), losing the City-State Sidon, and not having a Diplomat (Spy) in Austria's Cap (Vienna), it would have been possible to have had at least another 4 votes. Thankfully, they were not needed, and despite the handful of goofs, it is still possible to have more than enough votes to win a Diplomatic Victory on Deity. Don't worry about not having the Forbidden Palace, as this video show you don't need it, and you do not need to play "perfectly" in order to beat Civ 5 on Deity.

Votes/ Delegates are as follows:
-City-States do not give any votes/ delegates until the Industrial era.
-The Forbidden Palace gives +2 delegates.
-If you follow the World Religion you gain 2 delegates.
-If you follow the World Ideology you gain 2 delegates.
-Globalization gives +1 delegate from each spy in another civ's Capital as a Diplomat.
-If no one wins the World Leader election, the two players with the most support get +2 additional delegates.
