Tony Evans Never Disclosed His Moral Failure - Are Pastors Allowed to Keep Moral Failures Private? Tony Evans son Jonathan Evans revealed recently that even his own family doesn’t know what the moral failure was that lead to his father stepping down as Senior Pastor of Oak Cliff Bible church. The Tony Evans scandal caused a major splash throughout the Christian world. This was among several other high profile church leaders stepping down due to scandal. Dr. Tony Evans is a mega church pastor in which his church boast over 10,000 in weekly attendance. Tony Evans is also a best selling author, and Radio Host who is broadcasted around the world to millions of people everyday . This issue is not just a local church issue since Tony’s ministry has a world wide reach. We are going to go over Tony Evans son recent comments on the matter and discuss if Tony Evans and his elder board did the right thing by keeping Tony Evans sin issue “In House”. Are Pastors allow to keep moral failures a secret from their congregations? And does Tony Evans need to come clean to reenter the ministry? I do not believe Pastor moral failures should be kept secret on "in house. They have a public office and so if they have a moral failure this should be confessed publicly. I do believe because Tony Evans has influence world wide he should disclose his moral failures publicly before entering the ministry. Church leaders are called to live to high standards and must be above reproach. These issues can also be learning moments for the body of Christ. The Bible includes the moral failures of many leaders. What if they left these stories out of the bible? Sin should be confessed to others at times. Proverbs 28:13 Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy. I'm hoping Tony Evans comes clean before entering ministry again.
