King Arthur - the etymological and physiological mysteries.

In this video, we look at the etymological and physiological mysteries of the famous British King, King Arthur.

The etymological origins of the name Arthur are still widely debated, with the general consensus resting on the Welsh term for a bear - Arth.

Interestingly, the prefix and root phonetic sound "Ar" has ancient origins and can be easily linked to the Sanskrit and Greek dialects and the ideas of nobility and excellence. This connection to the concepts of Eminence and Greatness fits the ideals surrounding the famous King well, his very name reinforcing his legendary status as a ruler of great virtue and strength.

Another interesting etymological connection is between the Welsh word Aran, meaning an alp or high place ( Linked to highness and nobility, no doubt) and the modern mountainous country of Iran... or Persia of old—where the Aryan tongue was once spoken.

The Arthurian myth has been layered with Christian symbolism over time, giving it a religious veneer. Yet at its core, it is deeply rooted in the ancient pagan traditions of Celtic Britain and beyond. These legends speak of a profound bond between the people and the land, weapons imbued with sacred power, and the wisdom of nature... in all its plentiful profundity.

In the physiological allegory, the sword of Arthur is the human spinal column—awakened and vivified through creative energy work (semen retention in the case of a male practitioner). The stone is the sacred bone, the sacrum—a fused bone that sits, foundation-like, at the base of the stacked spinal vertebrae.

To lift the sword from the stone—the spine from the sacrum—is to decompress the spinal vertebrae, allowing the creative force, the enhanced bio-electricity, to flow more easily along its central conduit— the spinal cord.

This is the great awakening of the nervous system spoken of by the Brahmins of Vedic India, the Taoist and Buddhist sages of the far East, and the countless allegories and folk stories of the West.

When the sword is lifted, we become the ruler of our land—our body, mind, and spirit. And, when this sword is used in battle, the battle for self-mastery, we may find that a new weapon arises from the waters.

This is Excalibur, the sword that cuts through mountains and blinds those who oppose it.

Excalibur can only be bestowed by the Lady of the Lake—the guardian of the waters, the embodiment of the great goddess, the eternal mother. She is Nature herself, sovereign and untamed, holding the sacred power to lift up the initiate and awaken them to the great mysteries of life.
