The Odyssey by Homer

Homer's Odyssey tells the story of Odysseus, King of Ithaca, and his arduous 10-year journey home after the Trojan War. The poem details his numerous encounters with mythical creatures, trials, and tribulations, all while his wife Penelope and son Telemachus fend off suitors vying for his throne and Penelope's hand. Ultimately, Odysseus returns to Ithaca, proves his identity, slays the suitors, and reclaims his kingdom.
