God Blesses Mothers

Text: Exodus 1:15-21

I believe these two midwives must have gone back from this encounter and worked on the training of other midwives on how to save babies.
In my imagination, the midwives must have instructed the Hebrew women, “I know this culture is against you, I know this is going to be hard, but God gave you this child. Raise this child to honor God.”
V.21 God blessed them and gave them families of their own.

I can’t help but believe that this account plays into the bigger picture of God’s plan to bring Moses on the scene as a deliver in the next chapter.
I think these midwives helped influence the thinking of Moses’ parents to keep Moses alive.

Raising children to serve God in our culture can be a scarry thing.
But I believe there is an anointing from God on Christian mothers to give you what you need to fulfill His instructions as a mother to raise your children to know Him.

For those of you that have children at home, I want to stress the importance of understanding the spiritual training of your kids is of a far greater value than anything else in this life.
We are eternal spiritual beings having a temporary physical experience.

We tend to mostly see here and now, giving a small consideration to the future.
As parents who have influence over you children, remember you are set in position by God to set your kids up to not only experience God here and now, but to live in eternity with Him.
If I am casual about my relationship with God, my kids will follow my example.
If I place more importance on the physical existence than my spiritual life, they will follow.

An exciting fact in the story of Moses, is that he was with his parents for just a short time. But the training they gave him to serve God so impacted him, that even though he was raised in an educational system laced with the demonic and idol worship, when he became an adult, Heb. 11:24-26 By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward.

God’s promises to help you parent your kids is HUGE!
When you don’t know what to do, Jer.33:3 “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.”
You do your part, and He will supernaturally help you and do His part as well.

Something I feel I am to pray for and over mothers today is to silence the voice of the enemy who tries to get us to give up and listen to “the facts as I see them.”

I believe one of the tactics of the enemy is to try and convince us:
You are not good enough
What you are doing is useless

And for those mothers who don’t have children at home: the voice of woulda coulda shoulda.

I pray that the voice of the enemy will be silenced.
I come against any fear or anxiety that would try to dominate anyone’s thinking.
Holy Spirit, alert us to any place the enemy wants to give us identity that is not from You, and let us hear Your voice telling us who we are.

Father, Your Word says:
“…greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” 1Jn.4:4
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Phil.4:13
“… "I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Heb.13:5
“He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength.” Isa 40:29

God, Thank You for the anointing you pour out on women who are fulfilling Your call to minister to families.

I pray for mothers who don’t have access to their children – God you continue to move on the lives of everyone involved.
