Walt Disney World's 25th Anniversary Party (1997)

For this ABC TV special TGIF stars Melissa Joan Hart and Will Friedle host. Hart had recently debuted that season as Sabrina the Teenage Witch while Friedle was among the cast of Boy Meets World. Drew Carey, of ABC's Drew Carey Show, takes viewers on a behind-the-scenes tour of the parks while star of ABC's Spin City Michael J. Fox has a segment on the Disney/MGM Studios. Rosie O'Donnell, who was star of ABC's Rosie O'Donnell Show, presents a segment on Walt Disney Imagineering. There's also music performances by Gloria Estefan, Donna Summer, and the Village People. Jeff Daniels, who had been the co-star of the recently released live action remake of 101 Dalmatians, also hosts a segment on Walt Disney himself.

The purpose of this broadcasts was to kickoff the year long 1997 continuation of the 25th anniversary promotion at the parks.

This historical content is a time capsule during this time in both American and Walt Disney history.
