The Only Good Communist Is A Dead Communist
The phrase "The Only Good Communist Is A Dead Communist" is a line from the 1960s song "Ain't I Right" by Marty Robbins, a country music artist with strong right-wing views. The song, written during the counterculture movement and anti-war protests, uses this phrase to express a belief that communists are a threat to American values and should be removed.
Memories: Yesteryear's White Privilege
As a child I had the privilege of living in a city 95% white and a neighborhood that was 100% white. There were never any problems, no thefts, no murders. The rare brawl but nobody was stabbed, shot or died. After the fight they'd shake hands and go about their day.
Front doors weren't usually locked, keys were left in the ignition. It was peaceful, no stress, the worst thing people would go to jail for was drunkenness in public and they were driven home by the sheriff the next day and released. I know we can't be children again, but I do wish we could go back to those days now as adults.
The single thing that ended it was taking God and the Ten Commandments out of schools. If you want to destroy a nation, that is the recipe; and it was brought about by communists infiltrating the system. This is why I firmly believe the only good communist is a dead one.
The House Committee on Un-American Activities (HCUA), popularly the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC), was an investigative committee of the United States House of Representatives, created in 1938 to investigate alleged disloyalty and subversive activities on the part of private citizens, public employees, and those organizations suspected of having communist ties. It became a standing (permanent) committee in 1946, and from 1969 onwards it was known as the House Committee on Internal Security. When the House abolished the committee in 1975, its functions were transferred to the House Judiciary Committee.
The committee's anti-communist investigations are often associated with McCarthyism, although Joseph McCarthy himself (as a U.S. Senator) had no direct involvement with the House committee. McCarthy was the chairman of the Government Operations Committee and its Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations of the U.S. Senate, not the House. Joe McCarthy was right all along.
