Had a great little squat day this morning at the community rec center. One piece of equipment I wish I had in the home gym is a Safety Bar, especially when it comes to doing these cluster sets. So, this morning I maxed out of Safety Bar Squats and then did a cluster set. I maxed at 410. I may have been able to hit somewhere around 420-430, but 410 was sufficiently challenging to call it good. My cluster set was with 350, and I did something different today. I didn't rack the weight. That was quite the core blaster, but that's where the Safety Bar was a blessing. It wasn't a challenge to keep the bar on my shoulders. I just had to focus on maintaining stability. After the cluster set I did a couple of sets of Safety Bar Lunges. Then, I blasted my hams with banded Nordic Leg Curls. I'll be adding weight to these in the coming weeks. I finished the workout off with a rotational exercise. I'll be utilizing these as finishers in most of my workouts. Over lunch, I'll be doing a weighted walk. Then, this evening I'm planning on doing an agility workout during soccer practice. Great way to start off the week with a blast!
