how NOT to fight the end boss of Ninja Gaiden (NES)

Here is my getting the very end boss for the first time ever. Clearly I learned nothing from watching others play. I think I was too excited that I actually made it here.

This game is much more manageable for me now. I should have it officially beaten in the next day or two.
