The Basics of the Christian Faith - Evangelism - Part 9

When Jesus went back to Heaven, He didn’t leave a political plan, a military army, or a global tech rollout… He left 11 faithful men with one mission: Take the Gospel to the whole world (Acts 1:8). And friend, here we are — 2,000 years later — because they obeyed.

In this message from our series “The Basics of the Christian Faith,” we dig into what Evangelism really is:
Not a program
Not just a ministry of the church
But the very heartbeat of the Christian life.

From Acts 1, 5, and 8, we trace how the early church spread the Gospel — not with budgets or buildings, but with boldness, persecution, and a burden for lost souls.
We’ll look at the history of evangelism, the decline in our modern culture, and most importantly — what you and I can do about it today.

Don’t just be a consumer of Christianity — be a carrier of the Good News.

Scripture References:
Acts 1:8 – “Ye shall be witnesses…”
Acts 5:42 – “They ceased not to teach and preach…”
Acts 8:1–4 – Persecution scattered them… and they evangelized!
1 Corinthians 3:6 – “God gave the increase.”
Mark 8:36–37 – “What shall it profit a man if he gain the whole world…”
Acts 4:29 – “Grant unto thy servants… boldness…”
