Since the release of the live action Lilo & Stitch trailer some have noticed the character of Pleakley is not dressed in drag with some theorizing this may have been deliberate.

According to the film’s director, Dean Fleischer Camp, there was no motivation outside of trying to find something that works for the live-action format. However, Disney has been making headlines this last year for deliberately removing elements from new movies that may be perceived as promoting an LGBT agenda. For this they have experienced success compared to recent failures that promoted such an agenda. Seeing as how LGBT activist have hijacked the character from the animated movie, it’s possible removing the cross-dressing element is intended to distance the movie from such an agenda.
