SAM and Cam met in middle school and have been together for 10 years. When she first laid eyes on Cam he was carrying a Lord of the Rings book and she felt compelled to chat with him, as a fellow self-confessed 'nerd'. Cam said of the interaction: "The fact that she was even talking to me blew my mind." Adding: "A lot of people at first sight don't really notice it about her, but she is I wouldn't say as nerdy as me, but it's pretty up there." Their spark was instantaneous. From there, the pair built a solid friendship and officially started dating in 2015. They have faced judgment throughout their relationship due to the differences in their appearances. Cam is 5"4 and Sam is 5"8, but often towers over her boyfriend in high heels. His wardrobe favours casual dress, with hoodies and band t-shirts, whereas Sam usually goes full-glam with bouncy hair and bright dresses. Recently they were propelled into the TikTok spotlight which has meant even more judgement. The couple were out on a date when a content creator approached Sam and asked for her number while Cam stood beside her. Sam refused politely and explained Cam was her boyfriend - the content creator apologised saying he thought Cam was her brother. The video of the exchange was uploaded and went viral overnight and has received millions of views, the pair said initially they felt uncomfortable with the exposure. Sam said: "That video that got posted without our permission was one of the most irritating ones we've experienced so far because it was just somebody who interrupted us being in love to make fun of us being in love and for monetary gain." Negative comments on the post included: 'She's a gold digger', 'Obviously he has a big bank account or big other things to explain why they are together', and 'Dude, how.' The TikTok video wasn't the first time Sam has been approached by other men in front of Cam. He explained: "People hit on my girlfriend in front of me. I've overheard people making comments about us. It makes me feel much more self-conscious."
