Kurdish PKK to Disband and Disarm - Ending Long Conflict with Turkiye

This is a really big deal. The PKK has been a thorn in the side of Erdogan for a very long time. As a political party they were constantly suppressed and unable to gain any benefit for the Kurdish people, who are a large segment of Turkish society. That is how they came to be a "military" force, seeing this struggle as their only option. This decision now was not a gradual shift, rather it is the result of the changes that have occurred in neighboring Syria. Abdullah Ocalan, the long jailed leader of PKK, has convinced his followers that the chaos in Syria may become their fate as well if they do not evolve. Even from a cell Ocalan has the trust of all Kurds.
