Is It Ethical to Withhold Emerging Options from Clients?

If you’re working with clients or patients who are struggling, this is worth reflecting on:

They trust you to know what’s out there—
…and they trust you to bring emerging therapies and research to their attention, even if those options aren’t fully backed by randomized controlled trials yet.

They don’t expect certainty.
They want to understand what’s possible.

In my view, being able to talk about these options knowledgeably and responsibly is part of ethical care.

Of course, it’s always about helping people stay grounded in the available evidence while exploring potential new tools safely and thoughtfully.
