Habemus Papem

We have a new pope, Pope Leo XIV. He is Robert Prevost, the first pope from the United States. He grew up in Dolton, Illinois, on the south side of Chicago. This is stunning. Cardinal Prevost was mentioned by some as a possibility, but none really considered he had much of a chance.(Though Steve Bannon predicted he would be picked) It is reported that Cardinal Prevost had no meetings with other Cardinals and didn't seek the papacy in any way. When it became apparent he would be selected as Pope, he put his face in his hands, a true sign of humility.
What kind of Pope will he be? It appears a Catholic one. He appeared on the balcony in his first appearance as Pope in traditional vestments, unlike Francis.
He seems reserved, but strong. It is such a relief to have a seemingly Catholic pope. Many say he will follow the path of Francis, I have little doubt that he will not be much at all like Francis, he will stress Catholicism.
His story is amazing, I won't much go into it here, but he has two brothers, Lou and John. John is a strong President Trump supporter and Democrat critic and was in the tech industry from what I hear. John was Catholic high school principal. They have been all over the media talking about their brother. The media of course is hoping he will be a destructive leftist like Francis. It has been reported by Anthony Stine that the anti-Catholic bishops in Germany and elsewhere are not happy. Great news. I believe the Catholic Church will be just fine under Leo XIV.
