Replacing the Irreplaceable - The New Mini

Greetings everyone! :D

In a move that inevitably courted controversy, but in so doing breathed new life into one of Britain's most famous cars, the New Mini was released in 2000 to finally put an end to 41 years of the classic original, and in so doing would evolve the car into its own widespread brand that would cover a vast range of market segments going into the 2000s and 2020s.

However, the road to reach the New Mini was paved in pettiness and chicanery between the Rover Group and its parent company BMW, with the German and British management and design teams facing off against one another at every turn, leading to a fragmented development period of the New Mini that, on multiple occasions, almost led to the entire project not going ahead at all.
