How Much Longer Will the U.S. Pay the Highest Drug Prices in the World?
In a recent statement, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. exposed a disturbing truth that politicians from both parties have ignored for decades:
"Right now, the U.S. provides 75% of pharmaceutical revenues in the world. And we only make up 4.2% of the global population. So, in our country, we’re paying the list price for Ozempic — $1,300 per dose. In London, it’s $88. And both Democrat and Republican politicians have been saying for years, we need to put an end to these discrepancies."
The message is clear: U.S. citizens are subsidizing the entire world, while their own healthcare system becomes more unaffordable every day. For years, Washington — under the same recycled leadership — has allowed Big Pharma to take advantage of hardworking Americans. The result? Skyrocketing prices, unaffordable prescriptions, and millions forced to choose between their health and their groceries.
Where are the “defenders of the people”?
Democrats love to preach about “social justice” and “health equity,” yet remain silent while their pharma donors keep hiking prices. And far too many establishment Republicans have looked the other way, tangled up in the same corrupt system.
But those days are over.
With Trump, Big Pharma’s Free Ride Is Over
President Donald J. Trump, unlike career politicians, has called out these corporations and their D.C. allies by name. In his previous administration, he introduced bold measures to lower drug prices — like allowing imports and demanding price transparency — only to be blocked by the pharmaceutical lobby and the political elite.
Now, with a new Republican administration under Trump, the U.S. is putting its people first.
Because it’s simply outrageous that a drug costs over $1,200 in the U.S. but only $88 in Europe. It’s not fair. It’s not sustainable. And most of all: it’s not patriotic to allow this to continue.
The U.S. Is Not the World’s ATM
The nation that works, pays taxes, and keeps the system afloat should not be footing the bill for the rest of the world while its own citizens drown in medical debt.
Enough is enough.
Under Trump’s leadership, the U.S. demands respect, fairness, and accountability — even from the pharmaceutical giants.
