Retro-Cade: Building Arcade Cabs So Clean You’ll Cry in RGB Exclusive Interview With RETRO-CADE

In This Interview Josh from @YourRetro-Cade does an exclusive interview with us.

We hit the chaos of Pinfest 2025 in Allentown, PA—pinballs clanking, HD TVs glowing—and somehow cornered Josh from Retro-Cade, one of the most underrated custom arcade builders on the East Coast. Based in Pennsylvania, Josh’s company Retro-Cade is quietly churning out actual arcade cabinets—no particle board cosplay, no $3 buttons from a mystery eBay seller—just clean, solid builds that you could probably live inside during a zombie apocalypse.

In this interview, we dive into how Retro-Cade got started, how Josh went from hobbyist to full-time builder, and what the future of Retro-Cade looks like in a world that still thinks an “arcade machine” is something you plug into a Roku.

We get technical—but not boring—about monitors (they use HD televisions, no CRTs here), button layouts, and the 20TB Hyperspin build that powers these beasts, courtesy of Carlos at Arcade-One. If you’ve never seen a Hyperspin drive that could probably boot a small country’s infrastructure, you’re in for a treat.

Josh talks about the business side of things too—custom requests, how long it takes to build and ship a cab (spoiler: it’s faster than you think), and some of the completely bonkers stuff people have asked him to make. One of them might’ve been a toaster cab. We’ll never know.

If you’re looking to buy a cabinet, build one, or just want to hear from someone who’s in the trenches of the retro arcade scene—this interview delivers. And unlike some channels, we didn’t just nod along—we asked real questions, poked fun, and stayed true to the Perfect Storm Gaming chaos code.

Oh—and if you’re still clinging to that Pandora’s Box with 9000 repeats of Rastan, we’re not mad. Just disappointed.
