Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Hannah Dugan has claimed judicial immunity from prosecution after being indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of concealing an individual to prevent arrest and obstruction of proceedings. Dugan's attorneys argue that she is entitled to judicial immunity for her official acts, citing a Supreme Court ruling from the previous year that found former presidents have absolute immunity from prosecution for official acts that fall within their "exclusive sphere of constitutional authority" and are presumptively entitled to immunity for all official acts.
