ممكن أن تُعرف بأنها إلتزام أخلاقي للشركات والأفراد ولايوجد أي تعريف واضح ومُحدد لما تشمله المسؤولية الاجتماعية للشركات لأن كل شركة لها أهداف مختلفة ولكنّ الفكرة الأساسية للمسؤولية الاجتماعية للشركات هي العمل بطريقة مستدامة اقتصاديًا واجتماعاً وبيئيًا
