The Eucharist linkage to Passover

In order for the Angel of Death to not kill any of the first-born Israelites, God commanded them to slaughter and eat a lamb, but before eating it to apply its blood over the doorposts. The Angel of Death would then “pass over” their house upon seeing the blood. The blood “saved” them, but really it was God and a foreshadowing of what God (Jesus) would do for us. Jesus, slaughtered on the Cross, became the Lamb of God by shedding His Blood so that we would all be saved from the hell that we all deserve. Jesus is the New Passover. He was slaughtered so that we might live! And just as the Israelites were commanded to eat the lamb, Jesus commands us to eat His Flesh and drink His Blood as the Lamb of God, which we do as Catholics at every Mass! What a great and awesome God we have!!
