The priesthood is essential for the Catholic Church, as it is the only way to receive the sacraments and have sins forgiven. A righteous priest, who is holy and seeks God’s will, acts as a mediator between God and the people, interceding for them and bringing mercy. In the face of challenges, the Church needs holy bishops and priests who will lead the flock towards Jesus, despite opposition and persecution.
