1. Purpose of the Sin Offering (vv. 1–2):

It provided atonement and forgiveness for unintentional sin.

Shows that sin always has consequences, even if done unknowingly.

2. Different Offerings for Different Groups (vv. 3–35):

High Priest (vv. 3–12): A bull was offered; the sin affected the whole community.

Whole Community (vv. 13–21): Also a bull; blood sprinkled in the Holy Place.

Leader (vv. 22–26): A male goat was required.

Common People (vv. 27–35): A female goat or lamb.

3. Ritual Process:

The sinner laid a hand on the animal, symbolizing transfer of guilt.

Blood was sprinkled and poured out—blood is central to atonement.

Fat portions were burned; some parts were taken outside the camp and burned.

Spiritual Lessons
God takes sin seriously, even if unintentional.

Forgiveness requires a substitute sacrifice—pointing to God’s mercy.

Leadership carries greater responsibility—the higher the role, the greater the impact of sin.

Christ Connection
The sin offering points directly to Jesus Christ, who became sin for us (2 Corinthians 5:21). He is the perfect and final sacrifice for all sin—intentional or not (Hebrews 9:12).
