Diagnosis of Skin Diseases (vv. 1–46):

Priests (not doctors) examine people with skin abnormalities, such as sores, rashes, or discoloration.

The priest looks for signs like:

Hair turning white

The depth of the infection

Spreading of the disease

If the disease is confirmed, the person is declared "unclean."

The affected individual must:

Wear torn clothes

Let their hair hang loose

Cover their mouth

Cry out “Unclean! Unclean!”

Live in isolation outside the camp

Diseases in Clothes (vv. 47–59):

Mildew, mold, or rot in clothing (wool, linen, or leather) is also subject to inspection.

If the contamination spreads after washing, the item must be burned.

If it doesn’t spread, the item may be washed and restored after a waiting period.

Spiritual Lessons:
Sin is like leprosy: It may start small but spreads and defiles, requiring close examination and cleansing.

God's holiness requires separation from impurity, even in physical health and daily life.

Isolation of the unclean was about protecting the community, not condemnation.

The priest as examiner points forward to Christ, our High Priest, who discerns the heart and brings true cleansing.

Jesus' healing of lepers (e.g., Luke 17:11–19) shows His power over sin and impurity, fulfilling the spirit of the law.
