We are living in the last days. The Bible warns us repeatedly that deception will be one of the greatest spiritual battles in this final hour. Jesus Himself said that deception will be so widespread that even the elect could be led astray—if possible (Matthew 24:24). And we see it playing out right now. The enemy is using powerful platforms—media, entertainment, politics, and even compromised pulpits—to spread confusion and lies.
The question is: How do we stay grounded in truth when lies are everywhere? The answer is clear—we must trust in the Lord and walk closely with His Holy Spirit.
1. The Bible Warns Us About End-Time Deception
2 Timothy 3:13 (NKJV)
“But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.”
We are watching deception accelerate. Institutions once trusted—like the mainstream corporate media—are now tools of manipulation. News isn’t about truth anymore; it’s about control. We must understand that not everything we hear is real. There is an agenda—one that often opposes the truth of God.
Key Point: If you’re only feeding on mainstream media, you are being discipled by the world, not the Word.
2. Jesus Said Many Will Be Deceived
Matthew 24:4–5 (NKJV)
“And Jesus answered and said to them: ‘Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name… and will deceive many.’”
Notice the repetition—Jesus says many will be deceived. Not a few. Not just unbelievers. Many. That includes believers who let their guard down, ignore the Holy Spirit, and lean on human understanding instead of divine revelation.
Key Point: Deception doesn’t always look like evil—it often wears the disguise of good.
3. The Media Has Become a Modern-Day False Prophet
John 8:44 (NKJV)
“When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.”
Satan is the father of lies—and the media has become one of his loudest megaphones. It distorts, divides, distracts, and deceives. Whether it’s news, entertainment, or social media, the goal is to shape your thinking and rob you of discernment. But the good news is: the Holy Spirit leads us into all truth (John 16:13).
Key Point: The world pushes narratives. The Spirit speaks truth.
4. We Must Rely on the Holy Spirit for Discernment
1 John 2:27 (NKJV)
“But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you… and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.”
You don’t have to be confused. If you’re a believer, you have the Holy Spirit—the Spirit of Truth—living in you. He gives discernment in these deceptive times. He checks your spirit when something sounds off. He confirms when something is from Him.
Key Point: The Holy Spirit is our built-in lie detector in a world of deception.
5. We Must Be Lovers of the Truth, Not Just Avoiders of Lies
2 Thessalonians 2:10–11 (NKJV)
“Because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion…”
The antidote to deception is not just knowing facts—it’s loving the truth. When you love the truth of God’s Word more than you love your opinions, your party, or your preferences, you stay protected. But when you compromise truth, you open the door to strong delusion.
Key Point: Truth isn’t just information—it’s a person. His name is Jesus.
We are in a time of great deception—but also a time of great opportunity for the remnant Church to rise in discernment, clarity, and truth. Don’t get swept away by the tides of propaganda. Anchor yourself in the Word. Be filled daily with the Holy Spirit. Listen for the still, small voice of truth over the noise of the world.
Shut off the noise and tune in to the Spirit. Ask the Lord to sharpen your discernment. Be bold enough to reject false narratives—even when they’re popular—and stand on the truth of the Gospel.
The fake news can’t fool the faithful. If you stay close to Jesus, walk in the Spirit, and love the truth, you will not be deceived—you will be victorious.
