Why did God say to not Drink Blood in Old Testament and does it contradict the stance of us taking the flesh and blood of jesus in communion bread as catholics and orthodox? Christian apologist Sam Shamoun shows that in connection with the atonement of animals they could not have it because if they decided to drink it then it was showing that they had the soul of the animals living in them which is not correct because a animal could not sustain them from living but with Jesus atonement on the cross his blood offers a way for us to be directed connected to him and that is why Jesus said that in order to live and for him to sustain you, you must eat the bread and drink his blood because only him being gone, can maintain you and live inside you
