in the Bible specifically and the Old Testament God takes credit for the evil that happens for example like in verses that say God deceived or God told david to count and he explains that he tells is because of sin so often people assume that it is God making Satan or the spirits be evil but in reality, it’s allowing them to carry out the desires because of the people against God, causing them to give them what they want and end up, exposing themselves for a greater purpose, showing that they do not trust God and showing the reader of what Satan tries to do as Sam Shamoun / Shamounian points out
