Coteau-du-Lac

During the War of 1812, this fort was built to protect the canal at Coteau-du-Lac from the Americans across the River. The Americans never directly attacked this Fort but did threaten it once during General Wilkinson's failed campaign which resulted in a British victory at the Battle of Crysler's Farm. The Fort is mostly in ruins now but is extensive showing how vital it was to the defence of Upper Canada.
