These lyrics are based on an actual event involving a man who approached me asking for money, and I am one hundred percent sure he was being truthful. My wife and I often laugh because, when we’re in public, individuals frequently single me out from the crowd, asking for something. It could be anything: money, time, a cigarette, a light, or perhaps they just need directions. When people request money, I always ponder whether they are being truthful or if they are fabricating a story to obtain drugs or alcohol.
