18 Wheeler and SUV Collide, GOODRICH, May 19, 2025 - Shortly before 11 pm on May 18, 2025, a black 2020 Infinity QX, driven by Adana Mottley, 40, of Houston, was south-bound on US-59. As Mottley (with her family) were passing through the Goodrich area, an 18 wheeler attempted to turn around from the north-bound lanes of 59 into the south-bound lanes, but failed to yield to Mottley. The vehicles collided across Air Castle Road. Mottley's vehicle impacted one of the sets of tires on the 18 wheeler (driven by Lester Dwayne Crawford, 41, of Houston). The impact caused Mottley's vehicle to bounce off the pavement to the right and slide around 20 feet down into a gulley backwards. Fortunately, Mottley and her family were able to exit their vehicle and make it back up to the pavement. The urgency of the situation attracted police from City of Livingston, Polk County Deputies, Volunteer Firemen from Livingston and Goodrich, and Troopers Cesar Davila and Damon Zarate with The Texas Highway Patrol. Mottley was transported to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital as a precautionary measure. Both south-bound lanes of 59 were completely blocked by the trailer portion of the semi. Lester Dwayne Crawford is likely facing a citation for failure to yield. At time of press (12:30 am) the road remains blocked as the cleanup continues. This accident remains under investigation by The Texas Highway Patrol.
