John R. Lott: When governments track non-criminal behavior!

Dr. John R. Lott, Jr., is an economist and a world-recognized expert on guns and crime. He served as the Senior Advisor for Research and Statistics in the Office of Justice Programs and then the Office of Legal Policy in the U.S. Department of Justice during the first Trump Administration. He has held research or teaching positions at multiple academic institutions, and is the former chief economist at the United States Sentencing Commission.

He holds a Ph.D. in economics from UCLA. He is also the President of the Crime Prevention Research Center bookmark crimeresearch.org. He is the author of numerous books on the 2nd amendment and gun control in America, including More Guns, Less Crime, The War on Guns, and the most recent: Gun Control Myths.
