The Hunger Strike for Palestine at Stanford University

Stanford's Asian-American students have now joined the ongoing campus hunger strike in support of Palestine.

“As members of the Asian-American community, we come from a long history of resistance against Western imperialism.”

Several speakers framed their actions as a moral duty and a continuation of historical struggles.

“I’m hunger striking because I have the privilege to.”

The hunger strikers argue that Stanford’s refusal to engage with their demands has pushed them toward more drastic measures:

“We have turned to this dangerous tactic… [Stanford] would rather have their students starved than simply meeting with them.”
