Visual Meditations: ROAD TO NOWHERE

''A film is - or should be - more like music than like fiction. It should be a progression of moods and feelings" After reading this quote by the famous Stanley Kubrick I've been feeling jolts and pangs of inspiration in all my creative endeavours. So I decided to put together another visual meditation or visual poem of sorts as a way of taming my incessant monkey mind.

Editing is a great way to revisit memories and see them anew. REvisit, REnew, REpurpose, REvive, REimagine are some of the words to keep in mind during REtrograde as you yourself are a living work of art, forever evolving, discovering and experiencing the miracle of being. The idea behind this video was to show my love for urban exploration and being a bit of a flaneur. Having a romance and dancing with a city as if it were alive and responding to you personally (because of course, it is!).

When approaching ANY creative endeavour we must first get over our own inner blocks. Beliefs/stories about reality that are directly hindering its enjoyment. The blocks usually fall into one of two categories:
1) FEAR of outside judgement (what I create is not good enough, somebody else is not going to like what I make)
2) FEAR of self judgement (lack of confidence, shame, guilt, i don't have anything to say)

Make anything with the FREEDOM and LOVE that for now all you're making is something for yourself.
And just like writing a diary, no one can tell you what you wrote isn't good enough or wrong. It's an honest, personal reflection and expression of yourSELF in that moment of time. No expectations, no striving for perfection, no sales figures. Just an HONEST reflect ion of where you're at, Create without being attached to the results of your work...now that's a worthy challenge!
