AR-0157: One of those many telepics [my term for made-for-television movies] that saw broadcast on your 1970s television during that decade's Golden Age for this type of movie, this particular example is a fairly standard morality take about a devoted but seriously pushy and over-protective homicide detective who attempts to break up a potential case of adultery between his son-in-law and a local floozy, only to accidentally kill her [hey, it WAS an accident!] then try to cover up his involvement, which is the perfect opportunity for him as he is given the task of being the investigator on the case...

As far as television movie-of-the-week morality tales go, the story is decent enough, but unfortunately it is rather hamstrung by being overcooked on the dramatic theatrics [this was a long time before Lloyd Bridges realised his style was better suited for comedy] and as such remains a strictly standard 1970s telepic.

My Grade: C [Average]
