My interview with Wilfred Price, March 31, 1983

(The photograph is the great Major Douglas, not Wilfred Price and not me).

Although I am a Londoner born and bred, I also lived in the north of England for several years. In December 1982, I was living in Leeds when I travelled to Sheffield to interview Social Crediter V.R. Hadkins. On March 31, 1983, I travelled to Hebden Bridge where I interviewed Wilfred Price. Both these were more conversations than interviews but this is no time to play semantics.

Like the Hadkins interview, this one remained stashed away on a cassette tape for over four decades until I got round to converting it. In this connection, I should point out for younger readers (ie most of you) that in 1983 there was no Internet at all and no e-mail outside of the now long defunct ARPANET. When I set up my FinancialReform website in November 2001, it was inconceivable to me that I would be able to upload a 57Mb file at any time soon.

Today though, websites handle massive files and people spend hours on-line hanging out with people on the other side of the world.

This interview file would have been twice the size but sadly this is only the second part. I have looked high and low for the first tape but it appears to have got lost somewhere between West Yorkshire and here between 1983 and 1985. I should stress also that I cannot remember much of what led me to meet and interview this affable old codger at the time.

Unlike Hadkins, Price gets a mention in this absurd lie-ridden piece on the World Socialism website.

Okay, that is more than enough waffle...
