The protest "NAKBA 77" in Lenapehoking (New York City), was organized by Within Our Lifetime (WOL), on Thursday, May 15, 2025.

Nerdeen Kiswani, founder and chair of Within Our Lifetime, was one of the speakers. Kiswani is almost 9 months pregnant.

Thursday, May 15, 2025: 77 years of Nakba. 77 years of stealing Palestinian land. 77 years of genocide against Indigenous Palestinians. 77 years of ethnic cleansing against Indigenous Palestinians. 77 years of resistance by Indigenous Palestinians.

People gathered in Cadman Plaza Park in Brooklyn. After the rally, peaceful pro-Palestine New Yorkers crossed the Brooklyn Bridge to City Hall Park where they had another rally. After City Hall people marched to Union Square Park, then they marched to Madison Square Park, where they ended the demonstration.

Anti-zionist Jews of Neturei Karta International (www.nkusa.org) attended the rally and march on the Nakba Day 77.

The rallies and march were peaceful until pro-Palestine New Yorkers arrived in Union Square Park where zionists harassed, attacked peaceful pro-Palestine protestors.

New York City Police Department (NYPD) officers arrested peaceful demonstrators against the Israel-USA HOLOCAUST against Indigenous Palestinians, but I didn't see NYPD cops arresting zionists harassing, attacking pro-Palestine New Yorkers.

A man with the Israel flag climbed the statue of George Washington in Union Square. The New York Daily News says that he was pro-Palestine, but that's false.

"77 years of Nakba. 77 years of genocide. 77 years of resistance. On Nakba Day we join Palestinians around the world in uplifting our people’s resistance to genocide, zionism and settler colonialism since 1948. The Nakba, commemorated on May 15th of every year is ongoing to this day, as millions of Palestinians continue to be starved in Gaza, while thousands more are massacred and displaced from Gaza to the West Bank in “israel’s” ongoing genocide funded and carried out with the United States.

Join us in the streets from Brooklyn to Manhattan as we flood New York City and gather at multiple convergence points to demand an end to the siege and blockade of Gaza, an end the ongoing genocide, and full liberation and return from the river to the sea within our lifetime," said Within Our Lifetime before the protest.
